Sundays in My City #4 — Park Edition

I am sometimes guilty of rushing through life and not taking the time to take in the beauty around me, but one of my favorite bloggers, Unknown Mami, has a beautiful meme to encourage us to look for the beauty that surrounds us everyday. Here in Austin, we are blessed with a tremendous number of parks inside the city limits and after sharing a beautiful afternoon with my family, I was inspired to share a Sunday in my City’s parks.

    Awww, that looks so serene. We’re waterlogged over here. Going to the park would require galoshes right now.

    Do you know that some people have the nerve to compare my crappy city to your lovely one? I do it too, only I say things like, Why can’t we be MORE like Austin? Yes we have things in common, but somehow Sacramento has had a major #FAIL. Maybe you and I could start a sister city campaign thing and save our poor little crap town. Use you guys as a best practices sort of thing.

      I am all for starting a sister city campaign! I used to live in San Francisco and I visited Sacramento a couple of times but only for a few hours each time. I should give a proper visit some time. Or better yet, you could come and see Austin in person.
