Sundays in My City #50 — A Different Look

My kids and I got to take a different look at an Austin landmark. Remember that game in the back of Highlights magazine where they show pictures of details and you guess what it is. Well, here is my version…

Here is another clue…

If you came up with a sailboat on Lake Travis, then you win.

For those of you not from the Austin area, we have been under a drought for several years and the lake is 40+ feet below normal. So the sights are a little different and a good reminder to treasure our resources.

We did, however, find water…

And wind…

A captain…

And thus we sailed…

We had sun. We had friends. We had a wonderful day.

Thanks to my beautiful friend, Priscilla, AKA The Wheelchair Mommy, for an amazing day.

Check out other happy Sundays over at my friend Unknown Mami‘s place.

  2. How lovely to get to spend a day out on the lake sailing! I love seeing the sailboats in San Francisco Bay on the weekends. It’s a spectacular sight with the city in the background.

  12. I love Austin! I had no idea you had been in such a bad drought. That is sad! You live in a beautiful city! When my kids were little we ran in the Capitol 10,000 several years in a row. And my youngest son went to UT…the other three went to UTA. We love Texas!
